The Gift of Confidence: How a Smile Makeover Can Change Your Life
Have you ever walked into a large gathering and found yourself drawn to people with beautiful, perfect smiles? It’s not just you. Not only does smiling make the person feel more confident, but it also triggers an emotional response from others.
Unfortunately, most of us mere mortals are not born with perfect smiles. Perhaps we chipped or cracked a tooth playing sports, or were in an accident, or maybe we have gaps between our teeth or an oddly sized or misshapen tooth.
Have you ever wished you could erase all your teeth imperfections and capture your best smile? Think smile makeover, says Jose Marcano, DMD, at the Orlando Center for Cosmetic Dentistry.
Smile makeover explained
With makeovers, you may be more familiar with facial esthetics or even a home remodeling project. The common element between these two examples is that a transformation happens when flaws are addressed.
With a smile makeover, all those tooth imperfections that you’ve been living with but you wish you didn’t have can finally be fixed, leaving you with your best smile. A smile makeover is a customized treatment plan that tackles multiple aesthetic concerns. Talk about the ultimate do-over.
A smile makeover typically begins with a consultation. At this appointment, you’ll share your goals for transforming your smile. Dr. Marcano will perform an oral exam and review your dental and medical history. He’ll use this data to create your smile makeover treatment plan. The plan outlines the procedures necessary to achieve your smile goals and maps out a treatment timeline that unfolds over multiple appointments.
Fixes confidence killers
Most of us can rattle off several things we don’t like about our smiles. That’s the sheer beauty of a smile makeover – you don’t just eliminate one issue, but can finally kick all your smile confidence killers to the curb.
A smile makeover can include procedures to address diverse imperfections, such as
- Chipped, cracked, or worn-down teeth
- Crooked, misaligned teeth
- Picket fence looking or gapped teeth
- Misshapen or uneven teeth
- Discolored teeth or
- Missing teeth
Tackles several issues in one comprehensive treatment plan
Here at Orlando Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, we can map out a plan to transform your smile into the one you’ve always dreamed about. Smile makeover treatment plans may include:
- Clear aligners to straighten and re-align. We can address crooked, crowded, and misaligned teeth with discreet orthodontics. We help our patients get a runway smile using ClearCorrect aligners. The proprietary ClearQuartz™ tri-layer material makes the aligners virtually invisible and extremely comfortable, as you don’t have to deal with brackets, wires, or an archwire.
- Teeth whitening. Removing surface stains and discoloration using teeth whitening makes a huge difference to your smile. Our team uses the industry’s most popular teeth whitening systems – Philips ZOOM! With this in-office, chair-side treatment, you can brighten your smile by about eight shades in a single appointment.
- Veneers cover up many imperfections. Veneers are super-thin pieces of composite resin or porcelain that your provider adheres to the front surface of teeth to address damage like cracks or chips or anomalies like misshapen, odd-sized, or gapped teeth. Veneers are installed over two appointments, about two weeks apart, and make all those nagging aesthetic issues a thing of the past.
- Dental implants and teeth replacement options. Perhaps the most damaging issue that prevents many people from achieving their best smile is missing teeth. The gold standard for replacing missing teeth is dental implants. With this procedure, Dr. Marcano surgically places a titanium post in your jawbone for every missing tooth. Over several months, the post heals in place, and Dr. Marcano completes the process by installing a custom crown on top to create your new artificial tooth.
We also offer our patients the All-on-4®, which leverages all the pluses of traditional dental implants, plus removes the notable lengthy healing time. Remarkably, All-on-4 replaces missing teeth using four implants to replace the entire top or bottom arch. We also offer a variation on this procedure called All-on-6® dental implants. As its name suggests, All-on-6 replaces a full arch of missing teeth with a fixed bridge.
